MEN'S BASKETBALL: Ball State hosts NIU in regular season finale

Jones, Davis, Sneed to play final game at Worthen Arena

Seniors Jarrod Jones, Randy Davis and Pierre Sneed will step onto the floor of Worthen Arena for the final time as Ball State hosts Northern Illinois in its last regular season game today at 2 p.m.

In their careers, the trio has combined to play in 337 games and have combined for 2,789 points.

Northern Illinois comes into Worthen Arena having the worst record in the conference at 4-24 overall and 3-12 in Mid-American Conference play.

On Wednesday, the Cardinals snapped a nine-game losing streak against MAC opponents, defeating Central Michigan 71-52. The nine-game conference losing streak was tied for longest in school history.

The Huskies are coming off a 74-64 upset victory over Toledo on Wednesday night.

Jones ranks sixth in the MAC in scoring and leads Ball State (14-14, 5-10) averaging 15.1 point per game. He's second in the conference averaging 8.9 rebounds.

Jones has played in every game of his career and has appeared in 121 games and started 119. He recently passed Bonzi Wells who started 114 total games in his Hall of Fame career.

Davis is second in NCAA Division I in assist/turnover ratio entering today's game at 3.4. He's dished out 136 assists this season.

The Huskies are led by Abdel Nader in scoring with 10.6 points per game and is second on the glass averaging 8.1 rebounds. Aksel Bolin is second on the team bringing in 6 points.

The final matchups for the MAC Tournament are not finalized just yet. The Cardinals will be the ninth or tenth seed, which would mean they will either have to travel to Toledo or Western Michigan in the opening round Monday.

The ninth seed will play the eighth seed, and the tenth seed will play the seventh seed.
