Ball State donor Marilyn Glick dies at 90

The namesake of the Marilyn K. Glick Center for Glass, and a longtime friend of the university, died today at her home.

She was 90 and suffered from cancer the past year.

Glick was also the co-founder of the Gene B. Glick Company, named after her husband.

The CEO of the company sent a message to friends and business associates notifying them of her death, according to the Indianapolis Star. This note mentioned her generosity and strength of spirit.

"She faced her diagnosis with expressions of gratitude for the full life she was given," the Indy Star reported. "Many of us have heard her describe her life as a fairy tale, with Gene as her prince charming."

The Glick Center for Glass was opened in fall 2010, and last March, she was given an honorary doctorate of arts during the spring commencement ceremony.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation, 6501 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis.
