Greek's Pizzeria cited for mouse droppings

Greek's Pizzeria, located in the Village, was cited last month for health code violations.

According to an inspection report released by the Delaware County Health Department, Greek's was cited for two separate critical and non-critical violations on Jan. 28.

According to the report, there was evidence of rodent haborage, or mouse droppings, in the rear dry storage areas of the business. The droppings were not found or observed near food preparation or storage areas.

The establishment's other violation was non-critical and cited the accumulation of food debris on equipment surfaces, especially those near the slicer and two-bay sink.

According to an article published by the Star Press, a Greek's manager claims that the droppings were not mouse droppings, but material that had fallen from the ceiling as result of a remodeling project that took place in the building.

Sophomore Allison Leach, a music media production and industry major, said although occurrences like these happen, it won't really affect her decision to eat at the establishment.

"As long as I don't see it it's kind of like, no harm no foul," Leach said.

The business was given 48 hours to fix the critical violation and one week to correct the non-critical violation.
