Commissioners turn the lights off for downtown Occupy group

A local group of protesters have found themselves "occupying" downtown Muncie in the dark.

Around 7:30 p.m. tonight, the Delaware County Commissioners shut off the power at the county building, where a handful of occupiers had been staying. The commissioners said they didn't want to use taxpayer dollars to fund a protest, according to the Star Press.

Protesters have been occupying the space under a building overhang for more than a week following a march that started at Ball State on Oct. 19.

One local man offered to bring flashlights and hot coffee for the people outside the building.
