TAMPA – No. 22 South Florida extended its lead against Ball State to 37-0 in the third quarter.
Ball State was able to keep South Florida off the scoreboard for more than nine minutes with the help of a missed field goal, but the Bulls still broke through. Running back Darrell Scott scored on a one–yard run, the only score of the quarter.
The Cardinals' offense was stymied once again in the third quarter, punting once and turning the ball over on downs once.
