Dill Street Bar and Grill to remain at University Square

After months of speculation, the future of a popular bar and grill in the Village has been decided.

Dill Street Bar and Grill signed a lease to remain in its space at University Square, Milhaus Development announced Wednesday.

Milhaus is a real estate investment, development and consulting company based in Indianapolis that focuses on mixed-use and multi-family environments. The company bought University Square in May for $1.29 million after previous owner Myles Ogea declared bankruptcy, and Kicheol Lee bought the property at an auction but didn't close on it.

Dill Street will remain in its existing space at 421 N. Dill Street for another three years, according to a press release.

"We understand the tremendous potential that the Village has to offer as a neighborhood shopping district for not only Ball State, but the entire city," David Leazenby, principal of Milhaus Development, said in the press release. "Dill Street's presence here will help us re-sign existing tenants and attract new ones while pursing improvements to the building."

Phillip Wills, president of Dill Street, said he's thrilled the bar and grill gets to stay.

"Dill Street has been located here since 1992 and offers great drink specials, live music and a popular atmosphere with students," he said in a press release. "We are very happy to have been given the opportunity to remain in University Square. We look forward to a long relationship with Milhaus."
