BUTTERBEER

For all Muggles

Ingredients:

8 ounces ginger ale or cream soda

2-3 tablespoons of butterscotch syrup

Directions:

Mix in a tall glass and serve over ice. Serves one.

For Muggles 21+

Igredients:

1 cup butterscotch schnapps

7 cups cream soda

Directions:

Mix before serving, adding schnapps to the soda, then stir gently to mix well or the fizz will dissipate too soon. Serves a group.

CAULDRON CAKES

Ingredients:

1 box chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients required to prepare it; see package for details

package of prepackaged cotton candy

Directions:

Prepare cupcakes according to directions on cake mix package. Once cupcakes are fully cooled, take a knife and cut a circle through the middle of the cupcake to make a hole for the cotton candy to be inserted, but leave some cake in the bottom. Pinch off a large piece of cotton candy to fill the cavity of the cupcake. Makes 24 cupcakes.

PUMPKIN PASTIES

Ingredients:

1 1-lb. can pumpkin pie mix and the ingredients needed as listed on the can

9 oz. rolled pie crust pastry

1/4 cup melted butter• Cinnamon Sugar mix, if desired

Directions:

Bake just the pie filling in a large dish at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 1 hour. It is done when a knife inserted in center of dish comes out clean. Cool on wire rack. Make (or purchase) pie crust pastry. Roll thin and cut into circles approximately 4 inches in diameter. Put a spoonful of the cool pumpkin mixture towards one side of the center of the circle. Fold over the crust and crimp the edges closed. Slice three small slits in the top for venting, and brush with melted butter. If desired, you can sprinkle a little cinnamon and sugar on the top. Place on a greased cookie sheet and bake only until crust is a light golden-brown. Serve at room temperature.

CHOCOLATE-COVERED FROGS

Ingredients:

Gummy frogs

Semi-sweet milk chocolate morsels (can be substituted with white or dark chocolate, depending on your taste)

Directions:

Cover a plate with wax paper. This will be used later, after the frogs are dipped. Place chocolate pieces into a microwave safe bowl and heat on medium heat in thirty second intervals, stirring after each one until the chocolate is completely melted. Be careful not to burn it. Carefully dip the back end of a gummy frog into the chocolate. Place dipped frog onto the wax paper-covered plate. Repeat with the remaining gummy frogs. Place the plate of dipped frogs into refrigerator, until the chocolate hardens.
