Delaware County under thunderstorm, hazardous weather advisories

The National Weather Service placed Delaware County under a severe thunderstorm watch that will remain in effect until 3 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Delaware County is also under a hazardous weather outlook, along with most of Central Indiana.

The area could experience heat that range from the upper 90 to about 105 degrees, according to the weather service.

The heat has the potential to cause severe thunderstorms with damaging winds, heavy rainfall and deadly lightening, according to the NWS.

The weather service said thunderstorms could continue until Wednesday.
