WOMEN'S GOLF: Four Cardinals earn All-Academic honors

Two Ball State graduates among honorees

Four members of the 2010-2011 women's golf team received Academic All-Mid-American Conference honors, according to Ball State Athletics Friday.

Graduating seniors Brittany Kelly and Rachael Pruett were named to the Academic All-MAC Team while junior Autumn Duke and senior Katie Windlan received honorable mention honors.

Kelly owned a 3.644 GPA as a sports administration major. In May, she became Ball State's first female golfer to advance to the NCAA Regional when she competed at the 2011 Central Regional Qualifier in Ohio.

Pruett had a 3.79 GPA as an exercise science major. In the fall of 2010, she won her first career tournament at the Ball State Cardinal Classic with a 72-70=142.

Both Kelly and Pruett rank first and second on Ball State's career scoring average list. Kelly finished her career with a 76.42 average while Pruett finished with a 78.78 average.

Duke, an exercise science major, and Windlan, a criminal justice major, managed a 3.368 and 3.705 GPA, respectively. Duke competed in 10 events during the 2010-2011 season and had a career low 73 at the UNLV Spring Rebel Invitational. Windlan, on the other hand, was named to the 2010 MAC All-Tournament Team after tying for fifth at the league championships in the spring.
