FOOTBALL: Ball State completes coaching staff for 2011

Lembo hires three graduate assistants for next season

With three months until its first game against Indiana, coach Pete Lembo has finalized his coaching staff for the 2011 season.

Lembo announced three graduate assistants have been added to the coaching staff. Thad Bogardus as graduate assistant of football operations, Tim Kelly as defensive graduate assistant coach and Brett McQuilkin as strength and conditioning graduate assistant.

Bogardus is a 2011 graduate from Elon University, where Lembo coached for the previous five seasons. He served the Elon football team as a video coordinator and student assistant during his four years at the school.

McQuilkin is also a 2011 graduate from Elon University and played for four seasons under Lembo for the Phoenix. He was named Elon's 2010 Special Teams Player of the Year.

Kelly earned a bachelor's degree from Eastern Illinois in 2008 and a master's degree from Illinois State in 2010.

"We are pleased to complete our football staff for the coming year," Lembo said in a press release. "We are excited to welcome these quality young professionals to Ball State. Tim, Brett and Thad have the personality and values to be an asset both within the Fisher Complex and in promoting the program on campus. The summer will be an excellent time for them to get acclimated and get to know our student-athletes before the season begins."
