Ball State student 'Gleeful' to win contest

What began as a creative compilation of photos which mimicked "Glee's" box set cover, ended as an all expense paid trip to New York City for one Ball State student.

Graduate student Molly Habich got to meet the cast of the hit Fox show "Glee" after winning a fan contest to see the Glee Live tour.

Habich said she heard of the biggest Glee fan contest through Facebook.

The rules were simple. All she needed to do was upload a photo proving she was the biggest Gleek, a "Glee" superfan, she said. After submitting her photo taken by her boyfriend, Habich said she heard the surprise of a lifetime one week later.

"Initially, I thought it was a scam, I don't win often and so I researched the company that this contest was through, and they never asked for personal information so I finally believed it," she said.

After the initial shock of the first call, Habich said a person with the contest told her she would receive another call shortly.

Ten minutes later, Habich's phone rang and she heard a familiar voice, "Hi Molly, it's Corey Monteith." Monteith plays one of the main characters and is Habich's favorite character,

"I was in complete shock speaking to him on the phone, he kept trying to explain his character and who he was and I kept telling him I know who are. I was in complete shock because I knew what the prize was, but hearing him call me was so unexpected," she said.

After speaking with Monteith, it was time to claim her main prize.

Habich traveled to New York to see the Glee cast perform.

While in New York, Habich said she had a meet and greet with the cast.

"I was able to meet the characters who play Tina, Artie and Santana and even walk a red carpet and be interviewed," she said.

Habich also attended the Spring Fling, a promotional event for Samsung, who is sponsoring the Glee Live tour. Habich also received two tickets for the concert tour in New Jersey and a $700 American Express gift card.

"I took my boyfriend with me because he really loves the show as well. We are just in awe of their talent. No matter how cheesy a show is, you have to admit that they are crazy talented, and anyone can respect that," she said.

Habich said her meeting the cast was an indescribable experience.

"It is hard to put into words, I don't win a lot like this. The whole experience is surreal, this really tops off my summer," she said.
