VIDEO: Ball State construction

The construction has forced foot traffic around to the west side of North Quad, and Jim Lowe, director of Facilities Planning and Management, said he knows it interferes with some students' and faculty's lives, but the benefits will be worth it.

"The unfairness is that those being inconvenienced today won't necessarily get the benefits," he said. "But students today are benefiting from projects that previous students were inconvenienced by, and so on."

Major reconstruction began following Spring Commencement to ease inconveniences for students, Lowe said.

Construction work on the intersection of McKinley and Riverside avenues, commonly referred to as the Scramble Light, forced the closures of McKinley Avenue south of Neely Avenue and north of University Avenue. The construction stretches approximately 150 feet to the north, east and west of the intersection.
