Ball State senior golfer Eric Steger ended his final year in the NCAA Men's Golf Regionals Saturday.

Steger finished 49th out of 75 golfers at Wolf Run Golf Course in Zionsville, Ind.

He shot 14 over par for the tournament and finished with a 227.

Michigan won the team section of the tournament, shooting 11 under par and beating Big Ten Conference rival Illinois by two strokes.

In the individual section, Michigan's Lion Kim and Illinois's Luke Guthrie tied at eight under par to claim first place.

Steger was one of only two golfers representing the Mid-American Conference in the tournament.

This past season, Steger was named to the All-MAC First Team and named to the All-Tournament team when he finished third in the MAC Championships in late April.

His only victory in his collegiate career came in April at the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational.
