LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Student upset with Pence's Title X Support

First off, I want to say that Mike Pence does not represent me in any fashion. All of his politics are focused on the extreme right-wing, only distracting from the relationship he claims to have with his constituents. I am a constituent, and I matter, and I, more importantly, I want him to realize this.

I want to tell Mike Pence how deeply upset I am that he is trying to de-fund Planned Parenthood, which is a vital resource for many men AND women from affordable and accessible health care to family planning. No child deserves being brought into the world unwanted, and yet, this is what you're trying to do. Not only that, you're also contradicting your claim to fiscal conservatism — de-funding Planned Parenthood will cost tax-payers more money and the community will have to bear the burden of unwanted children that their parents can't even afford.

Mike Pence calls himself a Christian, and yet he acts the complete opposite of such. Jesus was about love; he taught the world the meaning of selfless love and of accepting everyone. Mike Pence is telling the world that he hates women, which is ironic since he has a mother, a wife, a daughter and possibly a sister. Tell me, how can you, Mike Pence, a man who claims to love Jesus, be so unloving towards your community and better yet, towards all women?

I'm very disappointed in you, Mike Pence, and your actions, to say the least. You never represented me; you only represented those constituents who funded your campaign and pay for your anti-women legislation.
