Ball State's win against Eastern Michigan Wednesday marked a historic night for coach Billy Taylor and the men's basketball team.
The team's 16th victory this season guaranteed it will finish the regular season with a winning record.
It will be the first time Ball State finishes the season above .500 since Taylor took over in 2007 and the team's first winning season since 2004-05.
To date, Taylor is 51-67 in almost four years as coach, but his teams have improved on their record each year.
Taylor's best finish in Mid-American Conference play was a tie for first in the West Division in the 2008-09 season.
Ball State is tied for first in the MAC West standings this season.
