Ind. Democrats plan online push over GOP agenda

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The state Democratic Party plans to use online venues to push its argument that Republicans who control the Indiana Legislature aren't doing enough to focus on jobs and economic development.

The Democratic Party says headlines of Republican legislative initiatives will be highlighted in a "Where Are The Jobs?" feature on its website and that related updates will be sent from its Twitter account.

Indiana Democratic Chairman Dan Parker says too many Hoosiers remain unemployed while Republicans have spent time on what he calls "divisive wedge issues" such as immigration and gay marriage.

Republican leaders say they've concentrated on developing a new state budget without tax increases and making changes to the state's education system that they believe will help Indiana's economy in the long run.
