Cancellations around Muncie and Ball State due to winter storm

For now, class is still on for tomorrow.

If classes are canceled, the decision will be made no later than 6 a.m., Tony Proudfoot, associate vice president for Marketing and Communications, said. In that case, notifications will be issued through an emergency text message and through mass e-mail. Information will also be available on the homepage of bsu.edu.

Area schools and universities — Butler, Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis and University of Indianapolis — have already canceled class for tomorrow. At Ball State, the grounds crews are busy salting the streets and sidewalks. No cancelations have been issued.

Events scheduled for today:

  • Ball State shuttle bus service will stop running at 6 p.m.
  • Muncie Mall will close at 4 p.m.
  • Museum of Art's Art at High Noon tour has been cancelled. It will be rescheduled for a later date. The next Art at High Noon is February 15.
  • Muncie Symphony Orchestra Young People's Concert- canceled
  • Scheidler Apartments switch to generator- Electronic items should be unplugged from about 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. as the switch is made from electronic to generator power.

Events schedueld for Wednesday:

  • Mock Trial Scrimmage has been cancelled due to inclement weather and will be rescheduled.
  • Jazz Ensemble Concert has been postponed to February 9.
  • Black History Month event "The Willie Lunch Project: Love & Relationships"- rescheduled for Feb. 9 at 6 p.m. in L.A. Pittenger Cardinal Hall B.
