Nate Davis is finally getting a new opportunity.
The former Ball State quarterback will sign a future contract with the Seattle Seahawks pending a physical, reports said.
Drafted in 2009 by the San Francisco 49ers, Davis spent most of the 2010 season on the team's practice squad. Former coach Mike Singletary criticized Davis earlier in the season for having a poor work ethic.
Former 49ers general manager Scot McCloughan, who is now an executive with the Seahawks, picked Davis in the 5th round of the 2009 draft.
In six preseason games, Davis completed 52-93 passes with three touchdowns and three interceptions. He has never taken a snap in the regular season.
