FBI warns 'Video Barbie' could be a source for child porn

A new Barbie doll with a video camera installed could be used as a child pornography device, ABC News reports.

The FBI issued a cyber crime alert Nov. 30, which was leaked to the media, saying the child's toy with a built-in camera could double as a possible child pornography production method.

Video Girl Barbie, released in July, has a camera lens on her chest, an LCD screen on her back, internal memory in her forearm and a battery compartment in her left thigh.

Wired Magazine compares the doll's video quality to a Canon 7D. Video Barbie features a cable connection just below the LCD screen on her back, allowing for easy upload to a computer. Mattel, the maker of Barbie, offers editing software on its website.

Video Girl Barbie can be purchased from the Mattel website for $49.99.
