The coldest weather of the school year greeted students Monday morning.
The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for central Indiana, including Delaware County.
The forecast called for the possibility of light snow showers today and tonight.
The NWS said the coldest air since last January will filter across some areas Monday through Wednesday.
The forecast called for wind gusts up to 25 mph, producing wind chill readings down to zero. Wind chills Monday morning reached as low as -13 degrees in some areas.
NWS said little to no additional accumulation is expected, however there may be some slick spots on the roads. Drivers should be alert to slick spots, drive carefully and allow plenty of time to reach their destinations, NWS said.
