On the cusp of their first exhibition game of the year Ball State has all ready suffered a loss this week.
Senior guard Shannon Klei is out for the season due to a back injury.
The 5-9 guard is one of three seniors on the team. The remaining seniors are forward Emily Maggert, and guard/forward Ty'Ronda Benning.
Klei has seen action in 71 games as a Cardinal from 2007-10. She had a career high of 16 points against Buffalo last season including four 3-pointers.
Ball State will begin the season with an exhibition game against St. Joseph's at home Thursday at 7 p.m.
