Speaker to discuss jobs with Dept. of State

Political science fraternity Pi Sigma Alpha is hosting a speaker to address career opportunities with the U.S. Department of State.

Kurtis Cooper will visit Ball State to speak with students about his experiences with the Department of State and how to become a part of the deparment. Cooper graduated from Ball State in 1999 and works as the Public Affairs Chief for the Bureau of International Organization Affairs.

Whitney Coffin, Pi Sigma Alpha president, said students should come listen to Cooper because it will provide a great opportunity to learn more about the department and will raise student awareness of other career paths they may not have thought of previously.

"He held several positions within the Department of State, and if students are interested, I'm sure he would be delighted to open networking possibilities," Coffin said.

The presentation will be at 4 p.m. in North Quad Room 207. Coffin said all students are welcome to attend.
