With seven books, eight movies, a theme park and millions of fans, "Harry Potter" has sprouted from a simple idea to a $15 billion franchise in a 13-year span. The seventh and final book was released in 2007, and the movies are wrapping up with "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1" coming to theaters Friday.
"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" follows Harry, Ron and Hermione as they travel the country looking for the horcruxes, dark magical objects that contain fragments of Voldemort's soul, making him nearly invincible. The trio is tested as they live in tents, run from the perilous Death Eaters and encounter dangerous magic. The trailers reveal intense battles between Voldemort and Harry, fights between Harry and Ron, and comedic relief when Harry is shown dressed in women's clothing.
AMC Showplace 7 and Showplace 12 in Muncie have sold out their midnight premiere tickets for "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1." Mounds Mall Movie Theater in Anderson is also nearly sold out, according to employee Tyler Ambrose.
