Anderson police investigate 2 suspicious deaths

ANDERSON, Ind. (AP) — The Madison County coroner told a newspaper that a man and woman found dead in an Anderson home Monday had been shot.

The Herald Bulletin of Anderson reports that autopsies will be performed Tuesday on the bodies that were found in a home on the city's west side. Coroner Ned Dunnichay estimated that the two victims had been dead since Saturday.

Police say they were called to an Anderson home shortly before 3 p.m. Monday to check on the welfare of the home's occupants. Officers had to force their way into the home and found two dead people inside. Police say evidence suggests that both victims may have suffered suspicious deaths but released few other details.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the death investigation to call Anderson police.
