Students are invited to attend the Haunted Ball in the Student Center on Halloween for a night of dancing, food and fun.
For the past 34 years, the ball had been held in Elliott Hall. The location has been moved to the L.A. Pittenger Student Center because the building is not disability friendly, Venus Hernandez, student Haunted Ball co-planner, said. She said all changes other than the location will be minor.
"Of course some of the activities had to be cut because of the location change," Hernandez said. "Everything will still be in the spirit of charity."
The ball will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom. Tickets are $2 in advance and $3 at the event. They can be purchased at residence hall desks. All proceeds will go towards charity. Glow sticks will also be sold to go with the black lights.
Student co-planner Talia Ratican and Hernandez are currently considering a battered women's shelter for the donation.
Hernandez said there will be plenty of dancing and food. Those attending are encouraged to dress in costume. She said the Haunted Ball pleases both students and the community.
"I think Ball State kills two birds with one stone," Hernandez said. "Everyone has fun, but at the same time, it shows Ball State's commitment to the community by doing charity work."
