New site shows Hoosiers who is representing them

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Almost anyone can name the president of the United States, but can you name your congressman, state senator or county surveyor? How about your local school board members, county judges and township trustees?

A new online database allows Indiana residents to see a list of all their elected officials in one place.

Indiana Secretary of State Todd Rokita says every Hoosier has at least 30 elected officials representing them in various levels of government. Rokita says the site showing their names, contact information and duties is the first of its kind in the nation.

People can enter their address or click on a map to see who represents them in various levels of government. The site is online at www.WhoAreYourElectedOfficials.in.gov.
