An elevator got stuck at Ball State University's largest residence hall around 11 a.m.
It got stuck on the sixth floor of Clevenger Hall in LaFollette Complex.
Renita de la Garza from University Police Department responded and waited near the elevator doors on the ground floor while personnel from Schindler Elevator Corporation worked on the equipment. Garza said University Police respond on the scene if there are any medical issues with people stuck in the elevator shaft.
Residence hall personnel told a Daily News reporter she could not interview or take pictures of the student, or students, involved in the broken elevator. She was interrupted from asking questions and was directed to speak with a representative in the Office of Housing and Residence Life. No one was available to speak with at the time of publication.
