'Crossing Arizona' explores immigration issues

The Multicultural Center is presenting "Crossing Arizona" at Pruis Hall at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The film tells the development of the immigration issue, covering topics such as illegal immigration, human rights and border control as well as examining the crisis through the eyes of people directly affected.

Ketwana D. Schoos, assistant director of the Multicultural Center, said the office chose this film because it is a part of the ongoing Heritage Film Series.

The film viewing is part of Hispanic Heritage Month. Conveying the perspective of various parties involved in the immigration debate, the film presents the issue from different viewpoints. "Crossing Arizona" places the events of immigration in a historical context, as well as presenting sides students may not have considered.
