Ball State announced the men's and women's basketball schedule Monday.
MEN
The Ball State men's basketball schedule is out and fans have to wait just two months for their home opener.
Ball State will play Eastern Illinois on Nov. 14 at Worthen Arena. The Cardinals had their home opener against the Panthers two years ago. Even though these schools are out of conference, Ball State will play Eastern Illinois again Dec. 8.
Butler and Ball State will continue their rivalry Nov. 20 at Butler.
The Cardinals will spend their Thanksgiving break at the Great Alaska Shootout. Ball State opens the tournament against St. John's on Nov. 24.
St. John's is one of two Big East Conference teams Ball State will face this season. It will also play at DePaul on Dec. 11.
Ball State opens Mid-American Conference play at Northern Illinois on Jan. 8.
WOMEN
There will be a few big names coming into Worthen Arena this year.
Ball State will open the season with an exhibition with Saint Joseph's College before opening the regular season at home with in-state rival Indiana from the Big Ten. They will host the Hoosiers Nov. 12 at 7 p.m.
Ball State will travel to Valparaiso Nov. 24 before hosting Big 12-power Missouri Dec. 1.
The Cardinals will also participate in the fifth annual Caribbean Classic in Cancun, Mexico Dec. 19-Dec. 21. Other participants include Illinois State, Nevada and Alabama-Birmingham.
The non-conference schedule concludes with a pair of home matches against Saint Louis (Dec. 30) and Duquesne (Jan. 2) before opening conference play at Toledo Jan. 5.
