New bar, new atmosphere at Be Here Now

Within the past four years, the Ball State Village has seen the location of former bars Moe's Tavern, Doc's on Dill and, most recently, Charlie's Library come and go. This year, one more will try to make it work.

Be Here Now is the new bar residing in the same location on Dill Street.

With a new owner in place, Be Here Now might be here to stay. Owner Whitney Stump seems to think so.

Although Stump said he had no choice when choosing a location for the new bar, he said when students make their way inside they will see how much work has gone into the new place.

"We have literally put in thousands of volunteer hours to get this place started," Stump said.

Be Here Now is a wine, beer and juice bar as well as the only entertainment venue in the Village that caters to progressive students, he said, with every night being student night.

Senior business administration and risk management insurance major Bryan Gross said the overall feel of the bar seems the same to him as before but thinks this bar has a better beer selection than the others there before had.

The new bar, which opened during the summer, has already had a receptive response from students, Stump said. When it comes to bar's future, he said it will be what the students make it.
