Indiana's first lady will visit Ball State University for a luncheon today. Cheri Daniels will be the keynote speaker for Muncie's Go Red for Women luncheon at 10:30 a.m. in the Alumni Center.
The luncheon will help educate women so they can take steps to decrease their risk of heart disease and stroke, the organization's website said.
Attendees will be served a "heart healthy" lunch and have the opportunity to attend free health screenings and breakout sessions, visit educational booths and partake in a silent auction. The organization strives to harness "the energy, passion and power women have to band together and collectively wipe out heart disease," according to the website.
Go Red for Women was created in 2004 by the American Heart Association as a social initiative designed to help women work toward having better heart health. It encourages women's awareness and action to learn about heart disease and save more lives.
