A senior on the Ball State University men's golf team received a conference academic honor on Monday.
For the second time in his college career, Ross Cosat was named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team.
To be eligible for this team a golfer must have at last a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and have played in at least 75 percent of the team's tournaments during the school year.
Cosat, a marketing major, finished the Spring Semester with a 3.495 GPA. He also played in 11 of the Cardinals' 12 tournaments this season and had three top-10 finishes — including a fourth-place finish at the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational, the tournament Ball State hosts.
Along with being named to the 2008 Academic All-MAC Team, Cosat was named a Golf Coaches Association Scholar last season. The senior is a candidate again to win that national award, which will be announced later this summer.
