IU gets $4.8m to add institute to Kelley School of Business

BLOOMINGTON  — Indiana University's Kelley School of Business has received a $4.8 million gift to create a new business institute focused on Latin America.

School officials said Tuesday the new Bloomington-based institute will hand out two-year, $50,000 fellowships to MBA and doctoral students. Those students will work on consulting and research projects with Latin America companies.

The Kelley School also hopes its new Institute for Global Organizational Effectiveness can serve as a hub for its MBA alumni working in Latin America.

The $4.8 million gift comes from the GEO Global Foundation, an arm of GEO Capital Holdings LLC. The New York-based firm operates a private equity fund that focuses on Latin America.
