Women's Week kicks off today

The Women's and Gender Studies program will kick off its annual Women's Week today with three events, including a live video conference with the attorney of Jane Roe during Roe v. Wade.

Several events are scheduled every day through Saturday. All events are free and open to the public.

What: Women of Significance in Environmental Design
When: noon to 1 p.m.
Where: Dean's Wall, College of Architecture and Planning

What: Media as Both Descriptive and Proscriptive: Gender and Ethnic Roles in the "Twilight" Saga
When: 3 to 4:30 p.m.
Where: Fine Arts Building Room 217

What: Some Leaders are Born Women, video conference with Sarah Weddington, Jane Roe's lawyer in Roe v. Wade
When: 7 to 8 p.m.
Where: Pruis Hall

Tuesday:
What: Do You Want to be Pitiful or Powerful?
When: 3 to 4:30 p.m.
Where: Cooper Nursing Building Room 160

What: "Psycho"
When: 5 to 7 p.m.
Where: Art and Journalism Building Room 175

What: Women of Song
When: 8 to 9 p.m.
