After the first two rounds of its own Cardinal Collegiate, the Ball State University men's golf team finds itself stuck around the middle of the pack of the 15 teams participating.
The Cardinals are in ninth place with a 611 at +35. The University of Detroit-Mercy, Eastern Kentucky University and Bowling Green State University are all tied atop the leaderboard with a 596 – 15 shots ahead of Ball State.
Eric Skillman has been the top individual performer for the Cardinals through the first two rounds. Skillman improved his second round score by four strokes to finish tied for 11th with a 148, or +4.
Anthony Novak isn't far behind. Novak is in a tie for 15th place, just one shot behind Skillman. Teammate Joe Gasser is two shots off Skillman's pace and in 19th overall.
The Cardinals' Eric Steger was disqualified for Round One after signing an incorrect scorecard. He rebounded to shoot a 71 in the second round, however.
The final round of play is set for a shotgun start at 8:30 this morning.
