MEN'S BASKETBALL: Jones named first team All-District

Honor voted on by coaches

Center Jarrod Jones was named first team All-District 14 by the National Association of Basketball Coaches on Monday.

The sophomore is the first player from Ball State University to make first team All-District since Bonzi Wells earned the honor in 1998. The last Cardinal to earn All-District honors of any kind was Theron Smith in 2002.

District 14 is made up entirely of Mid-American Conference schools.

Jones led Ball State with 12.2 points per game and 7.4 rebounds. He was the MAC's third-leading rebounder this year.

Jones was also named Honorable Mention All-MAC for the past two seasons.
