Late Nite expects attendance to grow

Late Nite is hoping the L.A. Pittenger Student Center's renovations will entice students to attend their weekly parties on campus.

Late Nite has been averaging 1,000 students at their parties each week this semester, William Merkel, administration coordinator of Late Nite said.

"I think the remodel will help, Just the atmosphere from the renovation is a little better," he said. "One of our first Late Nites [in the student center] we had bigger attendance."

Over 800 people attended Late Nite last week, but the lower attendance was likely due to other community events like Muncie Gras, Merkel said.

This week's theme is Late Knight and the student center will have inflatable jousting, catered food from Richard's Restaurant, play video games and will play movies like "A Knight's Tale" and "The Count of Monte Cristo," he said. They will also have their usual activities like bowling, billiards and game room.

Late Nite is Saturday at 9 p.m. Admission is free to students with a BSU student ID and $5 for guests.
