The Homecoming Steering Committee announced that royalty nominations are open. Nominations are due April 9 by 4 p.m.
The entry cost for each candidate is $35, or $50 to nominate two candidates. Only one king and one queen can be nominated by each organization.
Candidates must be full-time students at Ball State University during the Fall Semester.
There will be an information meeting April 14 at 9:30 p.m. in the Alumni Center for all royalty nominees. Nominations then will be put online for students to vote for the top 10. The nominees will participate in the fashion show and the king and queen along with the court are announced after Air Jam.
Last year about 80 candidates — 40 kings and 40 queens — participated in the Homecoming royalty selection process, publicity chair Meaghan Sigman said. The Steering Committee is encouraging more organizations to participate this year, she said.
"The more organizations that send their nominations, the more opportunities to be a part of Homecoming," she said. "Many organizations from the greek communities participate and that's always great, but we want to see other organizations being represented as well."
