Gov. warns of health bill's 'immorally huge' taxes

INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels is repeating his opposition to the newly approved federal health care overhaul, warning that it will place an "immorally huge" tax burden on younger Americans.

Daniels also said Wednesday that it's "fraudulent" for anyone to suggest that the nearly $1 trillion health care overhaul signed into law by President Barack Obama won't add to the nation's mounting debt.

The Republican governor told members of the Economic Club of Indianapolis that the health overhaul is going to make the nation's debt problem much worse.

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office says the law will cut federal budget deficits by an estimated $143 billion over a decade, but conservatives fear an expansion of government and costs they say will bankrupt the country.
