Three Ball State athletes earn weekly MAC honors

Three Ball State University athletes earned Mid-American Conference weekly honors, as announced by the MAC office Monday afternoon. Baseball's Kolbrin Vitek and Morgan Coombs and men's basketball's Randy Davis were selected for their productive weeks for the Cardinals.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
Randy Davis, sophomore point guard
- MAC West Player of the Week
• Scored a career-high 24 points in Ball State's 69-63 home win against Central Michigan on Wednesday. Also had five rebounds and five assists in the game.
• Scored 10 points and had seven rebounds and four assists in Ball State's 68-52 non-conference win against UT Martin on Saturday.

BASEBALL
Kolbrin Vitek, junior 2B/P
- MAC West Player of the Week
• Went 7-for-14 in the Ball State's three-game, season-opening series at No. 15 Arkansas.
• Had four hits, three runs and an RBI in the Cardinals' 5-2 upset of the Razorbacks on Saturday.

Morgan Coombs, senior RHP
- MAC West Pitcher of the Week
• Earned the victory in Ball State's 5-2 upset of No. 15 Arkansas.
• Pitched five innings in relief, striking out eight and allowing no runs and just four hits to the Razorbacks.
