SGA to publish how-to book

Student Government Association's Student Services Committee unveiled its "Ball State: How To" book during Wednesday's meeting.

"Ball State: How To" has been in the creation process for more than a year.

"It's helpful advice and how-to ideas for students at Ball State. We are mostly aiming towards freshmen and hopefully it will presented at freshmen orientation," Kayla Pickersgill, SGA Student Services Committee chairwoman, said.

The book contains information on preparing for classes and living in the residence halls.
"It has how to e-mail your teacher, how to take a short cut through the Atrium, how to write a résumé, how to transfer credits. Anything that you can think of we have tried to include," Pickersgill said.

This is not the first attempt at "Ball State: How To"; a previous SGA slate committee attempted the book three years ago.

"As far as I know they came pretty close and then whoever was in charge of it, their computer crashed, and they lost everything," Pickersgill said.

The book will be available for students to access in the coming weeks through the SGA Web site, Pickersgill said.
