SGA passes legislation to help students keep track of assignments

Student Government Association passed legislation to help students keep track of assignments during its meeting Wednesday afternoon.

The legislation has been a work in progress for the last four weeks as SGA has made changes and alterations to the bill.

The resolution suggests professors make students aware of major assignments within the first four weeks of class. A major assignment is classified as a paper, exam, project, quiz or homework assignment that will count for 10 percent or more of a student's grade.

The concept behind the legislation is to inform students of grade altering assignments at the beginning of a class. By telling students these assignments within the first four weeks of a class these individuals can act accordingly before the withdrawal period ends.

The bill will make its way to the University Senate for voting.

SGA also appointed Whitney Hamblin to the Off-Campus Committee as well as electing the 2010 Elections Board.

Election board members
Amanda Hendrix — debate coordinator
Taylor Pallatin — secretary
Mallory Winkler — treasurer
Kyle Bushey — sheriff

Jenika Garetson — voting member
