Parts of Central Indiana, including Muncie, are under a winter storm warning and is expected to accumulate four to eight inches of snow this weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

Indiana State Police urges drivers to be prepared for slow travel times and hazardous driving conditions, according to a press release.

Drivers should carry emergency supplies including blankets, flash lights, shovels, first aid kits and jumper cables. ISP advises people to allow extra time for travel, completely clear windows of ice and snow, and beware of intersections and other places where the roads may be slick.

If drivers become stranded they should stay calm, stay with or in their car, keep a window cracked for fresh air, and keep the exhaust pipe free of blockage.
