Career Center to host job fair

More than 70 employers will be at Worthen Area today to interview students for jobs and internships.

Coordinator of Employer Relations Cindy Hershman encourages students to have résumés on hand and dress appropriately for the Cardinal Career Fair job this afternoon from noon to 4 p.m.

Even though employer attendance is down in comparison to previous years, there are over 70 employers that will be in attendance looking for students for employment or even internships.

Hershman said eight employers will be on campus this Friday conducting interviews with students they meet at the job fair.

Big time employers include Frito Lay, Social Security Administration, and Deloitte U.S., a consulting firm, she said.

The Career Center is expecting 500 to 600 students in attendance and is strongly dedicated to helping students prepare themselves for a future job.

The job fair is one of the many services the Career Center offers as well as résumé review and on-campus interviews.

Many Ball State alumni return to the Career Fair to recruit students, Hershman said.
She advises students to be prepared to network with several professionals.
