The Ball State University women's basketball team earned a statement win Sunday at Worthen Arena, defeating preseason Mid-American Conference West Division favorites and leader University of Toledo 73-69.
The Cardinals (9-8, 3-1 MAC) now lead the MAC West.
Ball State was led by junior forward Emily Maggert's double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds. Senior guard Audrey McDonald had 20 points, while junior guard Ty'Ronda Benning added 18 points for the Cardinals.
For Toledo (13-4, 3-1 MAC), senior forward Tanika Mays had 20 points.
