UPB to sponsor student bus to Pacers game

While winter months prevent University Program Board from scheduling the amount of events it would like, they can't bring the organization to a complete stop.

University Program Board begins registration at 8 a.m. today for its trip to Indianapolis to see the Pacers play the Los Angeles Lakers on Jan. 27.

UPB Vice President of Marketing Dillon Kimmel said the organization will pay for transportation for the first 90 students who register and pay for the $10 ticket.

The Pacers have four or five college nights every season at which tickets are only $10 for college students. UPB has scheduled a trip to one of the college nights for the past few years, Kimmel said, and students usually respond well. It also helps that the Pacers are playing the Lakers, he said.

"We just really like to do a couple trips like this in the winter time because we're limited on things we can do," he said.

The bus will leave the L.A. Pittenger Student Center at 4:30 p.m. Jan. 27 and return at about 11:30 p.m.

Registration is in the Office of Student Center Programs at 305 N. College Ave.
