The Ball State University track team completed its participation in Friday and Saturday's Gladstein Invitational with 15 total top-10 finishes. The event, which did not total team scores, was held in Bloomington
The Cardinals' top performance on Saturday came in the 60-meter dash, as Ball State captured the No. 3 (Janae Taylor - 7.87), 4 (Ra'Jae Marable - 7.95) and 5 Katie Johnson (7.96) spots.
Marable was part of four top-10 finishes in the two-day event. On Saturday, other than her fourth-place finish in the 60-meter dash, the junior finished sixth in the 60-meter hurdles by running a 9.03.
Other double top-10 placers for the Cardinals on Saturday were Taylor, Thekla Lorenz, Jenna Schmitmeyer and Renyae Owsley.
The team returns to action Saturday at the Indiana Wesleyan Invitational.
Day one recap
The Cardinals had a strong start in its first day of competition on Friday at the Gladstein Invitational in Bloomington.
Freshman Judah Smith had the best performance of the day for Ball State, running to third place in the 400m dash with a time of 58.56 Thekla Lorenz also had an impressive day, racking up 3614 points to finish forth in the indoor pentathlon. Her best event in that series was the long jump, earning herself second place with a jump of 5.74m.
