The city of Muncie will place parking meters on Riverside and New York avenues later this year, two years after their approval.
Ron Ball, supervisor for streets and signs department, said the project was approved because the city had been trying to control parking on Ball State.
He said the meters are in the process of being purchased, which will take time as the department goes through paper work. The parking meters will be installed in late Spring or the middle of Summer.
They will be placed on Riverside Avenue, between Tillotson Avenue. and North Meadow Lane. Parking meters on New York Avenue will be placed between Neely and Riverside avenues.
