MEN'S VOLLEYBALL: Ball State ends up on right end of 3-game weekend road trip

Cardinals sweep Milwaukee School of Engineering Sunday to open season 2-1

The No. 13 Ball State University men's volleyball team ended its three-game weekend road trip on a two-game winning streak. Ball State defeated the Milwaukee School of Engineering in a three-game sweep (30-18, 30-24, 30-27) Sunday afternoon.

Freshman attacker Larry Wrather had a big day for the Cardinals with a match- and career-high 13 kills along with four blocks. Senior libero Billy Ebel paced the Ball State defense with a match-best 15 digs.

Chris Reininger led MSOE with 13 kills at a match-high .545 hitting percentage. Jon Holzbauer had a team-best nine digs.

The Cardinals (2-1, 0-1 Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association) return to action Thursday for their second MIVA match of the year. They host Grand Canyon University at 7:30 p.m. in Worthen Arena to start a five-game home stand. It will be the first-ever MIVA match for the Antelopes.
