MEN'S BASKETBALL: Cardinals offensive woes continue - BSU shoots 24.4 percent in 53-38 loss at CMU

The Cardinals remain winless in MAC play with lowly Toledo coming to Worthen Arena Sunday

The Ball State University men's basketball team continued its offensive struggles Wednesday night, this time shooting 24.4 percent from the field in their 53-38 loss to host Central Michigan University in front of 2,112 fans at the Rose Center in Mount Pleasant, Mich.

Ball State (6-8, 0-2 Mid-American Conference) trailed 26-14 at halftime and could never get a run going in the second half to challenge Central Michigan (7-7, 2-0 MAC). The Cardinals were outrebounded 35-30 and made just 2-of-15 (13 percent) 3-pointers compared to 8-of-20 (40 percent) for the Chippewas.

Freshman guard Jauwan Scaife had a team-high 12 points for Ball State. Sophomore center Jarrod Jones had a game-high 11 rebounds, while sophomore guard Randy Davis added nine points.

For Central Michigan, three players scored double-digits, as Chris Kellermann had a game-best 14 points while Robbie Harman and Jordan Bitzer added 12 apiece.
